Established in 2015, The Breakfast Pig opened it’s doors at 265 Bruce St in Sault Ste Marie on June 27, 2015. Now simply known as The Pig to our faithful followers, we have become a Sault Ste Marie staple. The concept is breakfast, but in it’s most badass form. We want to provide the very best of everything. Our menu is crafted to bring you choices from traditional to outrageous and everything in between. We are so proud to be able to say that all of our pork products are completely local. We have worked so hard to turn this dream into a reality. Partnering with Sunnynook Farms, we have been able to totally up our game by having our own local farmer provide us with all of our pork. Our pork not only tastes better, but we are able to boast community support, sustainability, and the fair treatment of our animals. We will continue to challenge ourselves to be the best we can be every single day. We have won numerous awards like Best Breakfast On The Lake from Lake Superior Magazine, Best Breakfast in The Sault two years in a row from The Sault Star, our food has been featured in magazines, but our greatest satisfaction comes from the smiles, compliments, and return visits from our customers.

 

ABOUT ANG

The Breakfast Pig started out as a dream and a hope for me. Having served in all types of restaurants and bars, I knew what people wanted. I spent years listening to people’s compliments and complaints, and had become as big of a foodie as anyone I knew, so I put faith in my experiences and decided to move forward with my plan. I wanted to create and serve the best tasting, most creative, mind blowing food possible, and I wanted to do it with the focus being on the most important meal of the day. Though I was met with criticism, cynicism and doubts by some, I believed in my industry earned knowledge and stayed true to myself, and The Breakfast Pig was born. I am now surrounded by a wonderful front of house staff, the most hard working, talented kitchen staff anyone could ask for, and the world’s greatest customers! People often say how lucky I am that The Pig is so successful, but I like to think that luck may have played a small role, but dedication, hard work, and the fact that this is a labour of love are the real reasons why we have done so well.
I am so proud to be able to take the next step in bringing forth the very best. The move to go to 100% local pork is something so near and dear to my heart. I not only want my customers to enjoy the taste benefits of this decision, but I absolutely love that we will be supporting so many local businesses with this move and that we are supporting the fair treatment of our pigs. I am so proud to be amongst some of the first businesses in Sault Ste Marie to be moving away from the commercial pork industry. Now when you are dining with us, your belly and your heart can feel good about your choices!
